The U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Finance and Operations (OFO) Webmaster contract provided comprehensive web content management services across multiple digital platforms, including the employee intranet (connectED), the public-facing ED.gov website, and SurveyMonkey environments used for internal communications and information gathering.
Tactile supported OFO’s mission by managing the timely publication, maintenance, and dissemination of critical operational and employee-focused information. OFO oversees key administrative functions—including human resources, security, and employee services—requiring content that was accurate, accessible, and delivered within demanding timeframes. Our team evaluated, prioritized, and executed a high volume of content requests while providing strategic guidance on content organization, presentation, and distribution to maximize user engagement and information accessibility.
A core component of Tactile’s performance was ensuring compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Our team reviewed and remediated web content, documents, and digital assets to meet federal accessibility requirements, ensuring equitable access to information for individuals with disabilities. We applied Section 508 standards throughout the content lifecycle, conducting accessibility assessments, recommending corrective actions, and implementing necessary modifications prior to publication. This work was performed in accordance with the content governance standards of both connectED and ED.gov, helping the Department maintain accessible, compliant, and user-centered digital experiences across its web properties.
