The Interagency Arctic Research Policy Committee (IARPC) Collaborations website brings together scientists from federal, state, academic, non-governmental organizations (NGO), industry, Indigenous and international organizations to share their work on pressing Arctic research issues. The site also hosts the five-year Arctic Research Plan, which outlines a vision for federal agencies to address emerging research questions about the Arctic.

Visitors to the site can read the latest IARPC news, events, and research principles. The Collaborations member section provides a platform for Arctic communities and teams to communicate and share ideas with colleagues worldwide.

THE CHALLENGE

  • IARPC sought an experienced digital agency to seamlessly migrate the hosting
  • They wanted to create a long-term partnership to provide continuing site maintenance, updates, and enhancements

THE SOLUTION

  • When Tactile took on this project, there were no existing user manuals, schematics, or CMS documentation
  • Tactile’s development team dove into the existing code base and mapped out all online processes and third-party applications
  • The site and associated databases were successfully moved to a new hosting service provider
  • Integrations were upgraded and enhanced security measures enabled

THE OUTCOME

  • IARPC’s migrated site launched in August 2021
  • The site functions smoothly and securely for viewers, members, and administrators
  • Tactile and IARPC continue their partnership

The Tactile team has been a joy to work with. Tactile helped us migrate our custom-built website to a new server and make it more functional, user-friendly, and engaging so that we can support Arctic researchers and communities.
