The Department of Education’s OFO Webmaster contract is focused on web content management for the Office of Finance and Operations (OFO). The contract covers daily content creation and update work on at least three different ED channels: the employee intranet, known as connectED; the public website, ED.gov; and a SurveyMonkey account for internal information gathering.

OFO comprises the divisions focused on employee and operational services, including, among other things, human resources and security. Accordingly, the timely and accurate posting of content is critical. The position requires the Tactile team to assess the relative importance of incoming requests in order to prioritize them, and to absorb the nature of the information in order to advise on how best to present and disseminate it. The work focuses primarily on text content, and requires excellent written and verbal communication skills for all team members.

In addition to observing the content governance rules of connectED and ED.gov, the Tactile team is required to assess and, if necessary, adjust incoming content for compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 508 establishes requirements for access to electronic and information technology in the Federal sector.
