The HEPIS project has had four primary goals: (1) take five distinct systems running on three different websites (and in one Access database), and combine them into one consolidated, single sign-on web portal; (2) update the interface to be more modern, intuitive, and user-friendly; (3) upgrade the back end code from an outdated ColdFusion framework to a LAMP-stack open source framework; and (4) perform regular system maintenance tasks and support users who are submitting their annual performance report data.
Tactile simultaneously maintained and operated the old websites while designing and building the new ones to ensure uninterrupted service for both the users and the client. Improved data validation was incorporated throughout each system to ensure better data integrity. Security enhancements were developed and implemented and continue to be monitored and updated.
Since launching the new websites, Tactile has performed regular updates to improve functionality and to incorporate changes to the data collection forms. We’ve also built new data visualization tools that provide cross-system data analysis and reporting which was never possible before the discrete systems were consolidated.
